Jake & Lindsay’s Engagement Session at The Barn at Murphey Farm

There’s something especially meaningful about taking engagement photos at the place where a couple will eventually say I do. Jake and Lindsay chose to have their engagement session at The Barn at Murphey Farm, the venue where they’ll be getting married in March 2026 — and it couldn’t have been a better setting for such a beautiful evening.

The weather showed up in the best way, giving us a gorgeous day that led into an incredible sunset and some truly stunning golden hour light.

From a Brewery Trivia Night to Forever

Jake and Lindsay’s story began in a way that feels very true to who they are — casually, unexpectedly, and surrounded by familiar faces.

They met at a brewery in Hendersonville during trivia night, when Jake’s sister and brother-in-law (who work in the ER with Lindsay) walked in to play. Lindsay is a nurse, Jake is a land surveyor, and from the start, their connection felt natural and easy — the kind that grows steadily without forcing anything.

That same ease carried right into their engagement session.

Exploring The Barn at Murphey Farm

Doing their engagement session at The Barn at Murphey Farm gave Jake and Lindsay the chance to spend time on the property well before their wedding day, getting comfortable in the space and seeing how it comes to life in photos.

One of the highlights of the session was getting to explore different areas of the property with the help of the venue owner, who took us around by golf cart to some truly beautiful spots. It allowed us to move easily across the grounds and take advantage of a variety of backdrops without feeling rushed.

As the sun began to set, the light across the property softened perfectly, giving us golden hour photos that felt warm, relaxed, and timeless.

Gus, the Very Good Boy

Of course, Gus — their chocolate lab — joined in for the session and was an absolute star.

Gus is clearly a hunting dog through and through. He listens closely to Jake, stays exactly where he’s supposed to be, and handled being off leash like a pro. Watching the dynamic between Jake, Lindsay, and Gus made it obvious how much he’s a part of their everyday life — and having him there made the session feel even more personal.

Dogs always bring something extra special to engagement sessions, and Gus did that effortlessly.

Looking Ahead to Their Wedding Day

Jake and Lindsay will be getting married at The Barn at Murphey Farm on March 21, 2026, surrounded by around 125 guests. They’re planning a wedding party of five groomsmen, six bridesmaids, and two flower girls — and Gus will be there on the wedding day as well.

They’ve chosen not to do a first look, saving that moment for the ceremony itself, which will make their walk down the aisle even more meaningful. One of the unique aspects of their venue is the on-site Airbnb, where the wedding party will be staying together, creating a true wedding-weekend experience.
