Anna & Robby’s BlueBridge Event Center Wedding in Grawn, Michigan
A Sunshine-Filled September Celebration Overflowing With Joy
There are weddings that feel beautiful, and then there are weddings that feel like pure joy from start to finish.
Anna and Robby’s September 20th wedding at BlueBridge Event Center was the perfect blend of romance, laughter, meaningful moments, and the kind of Michigan sunshine you dream about for a fall wedding.
With temperatures right around 70°, a bright blue sky, and a soft early-autumn breeze, the day felt like something out of a movie — warm, colorful, and completely relaxed. Everything about this wedding felt intentional, heartfelt, and uniquely “them.”
Their Story: A Love That Began With Ice Cream & Hours of Talking
Anna and Robby first met in Cleveland in 2019 at an ice cream shop — though “meet” might be an understatement. They talked so long and so deeply that employees literally had to ask them to leave when the shop closed.
That connection only grew through all the small, meaningful things they share:
a love of the outdoors
a Michigan vs. Ohio State friendly rivalry
video games and LEGO-building nights
date nights and cozy weekends in
and a deep, effortless friendship at the center of everything
Four years later, Anna still describes Robby as her best friend — the person she turns to, laughs with, and builds a life with.
The Proposal: A Michigan Sunset, Skipping Rocks, and the Sweetest Surprise
Northern Michigan is special to both of them — Anna was born there, and they’ve spent years traveling up north for long weekends, camping, and exploring.
In June 2023, during a trip to Mackinaw Bay, they wandered to the beach at sunset after setting up camp. They started skipping rocks (a tradition of theirs), and after Anna skipped what she claimed was her best one ever, she turned around to find Robby down on one knee.
She immediately collapsed into the sand, overwhelmed with joy, and of course said yes.
Getting Ready at BlueBridge: A Morning Full of Emotion & Laughter
Both Anna and Robby got ready on-site at BlueBridge Event Centre, which makes the whole day feel seamless and relaxed.
The bridesmaids were buzzing with excitement all morning — hyping up Anna, sharing stories, and helping her into her dress. And this wasn’t just any dress… it was her mother’s wedding dress, beautifully updated and full of meaning. Seeing Anna step into it was such an emotional moment.
Before the ceremony, she shared two incredibly sweet first looks:
A First Look With Her Bridesmaids
They gasped, screamed, cried — all the things you hope for in a bridesmaid reveal. Their reactions were priceless.
A First Look With Her Dad
This one had everyone teary. The pride and emotion on his face said everything.
These moments added so much sentiment and warmth to the day.
Meanwhile… The Guys Played Football
While the girls got ready, Robby and his groomsmen had a completely different kind of morning — hanging out, laughing, and playing football near their cabin on the property.
It was the perfect reflection of who they are: relaxed, fun, and always up for a little friendly competition. These candid, playful moments made for some of the best pre-ceremony photos.
A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature & Sunshine
With no first look, the anticipation leading up to the ceremony was high — and so worth it.
The ceremony space at BlueBridge is surrounded by tall trees, soft greenery, and peaceful water views. At 4:00pm, the light was absolute perfection — warm, glowy, and golden.
When Anna walked down the aisle, Robby’s reaction was everything. You could feel the emotion ripple through the guests.
Their officiant, Claire, created a ceremony that was heartfelt, meaningful, and filled with personality. It was one of those ceremonies where you can feel the room lean in closer with every word.
Wedding Party Photos: A Big, Joyful Crew
Anna and Robby had a large wedding party, and every single person was a huge part of their story — childhood friends, college friends, siblings, and people from every stage of their lives.
Photographing a big wedding party can sometimes be chaotic, but this group was AMAZING.
Supportive.
Fun.
So much energy.
And incredibly sweet to both Anna and Robby.
This crew showed up ready to celebrate — and they absolutely delivered.
Golden Hour Portraits by the Lake
Right before sunset, we snuck away for golden-hour portraits — and these were hands-down some of the best moments of the day.
BlueBridge has stunning waterfront areas, and the reflection of the golden light on the lake made everything feel magical. Anna and Robby melted into each other so naturally, laughing the entire time, and the photos are absolutely dreamy.
It was quiet, peaceful, and such a perfect break for them to soak in the day together.
The Reception: Dancing, Laughing, and a Surprise Outfit Change
Their reception was the definition of a party.
From the moment the doors opened at 6:00pm, the energy was high. After their first dance, guests filled the floor immediately — and it stayed packed all night long.
One of the highlights?
Anna’s outfit change.
Halfway through the reception, she changed into a stunning white jumpsuit that was fun, elegant, and perfect for dancing. It fit her personality so well and made for the cutest second set of portraits.
The speeches were heartfelt, the dancing was nonstop, and you could tell everyone was genuinely having the time of their lives celebrating these two.
