Nicole & Tyler’s Fall Engagement Session at Percy Warner Park

Nicole & Tyler’s Fall Engagement Session at Percy Warner Park

Some November days in Nashville surprise you β€” and Nicole and Tyler’s engagement session was one of them.

It was unseasonably warm, the kind of fall day where you forget it’s almost winter, and Percy Warner Park was showing off. The trees were glowing in deep shades of orange, the light was soft, and even though the park was busy, it never felt overwhelming.

We met at the bottom of the stone steps and worked our way up, taking our time and letting the session unfold naturally.

Starting Polished, Ending Playful

Nicole and Tyler started the session in a more elevated look β€” Nicole in a cute dress that photographed beautifully against the fall colors, and Tyler in a button-down that felt classic and effortless. It was the perfect choice for the beginning of the session, especially with the stone steps and trees creating such a timeless backdrop.

Halfway through, we switched things up.

They changed into something more casual, which gave us space to relax, laugh, and have a little more fun with movement. That outfit change always helps sessions feel more like them β€” less posed, more real.

Finding Quiet Moments in a Popular Park

Percy Warner Park is one of Nashville’s most popular spots, especially in the fall, but one of my favorite things about shooting there is how easy it is to find pockets of quiet if you know where to look.

Even with people around, we were able to step slightly off the main paths, pause between moments, and create images that feel intimate and calm β€” never rushed or crowded.

From Wedding Show to Engagement Session

Nicole and Tyler and I originally met at a wedding show back in May, which makes sessions like this even more special. Engagement sessions are often the first time couples really get to slow down together in front of the camera, and it’s always fun to reconnect after that first meeting and see everything start to feel real.

By the end of their session, it felt less like β€œtaking photos” and more like hanging out on a beautiful fall afternoon β€” which is always the goal.

If you’re planning an engagement session in Nashville and love fall color, Percy Warner Park is hard to beat. With the right timing (and a little flexibility), it offers a perfect mix of nature, texture, and variety β€” no matter the season.
